Sorry I was unable to post the free files yesterday but it turned out to be such a lovely day that we went for a bike ride and a concert in the park instead...much better than sitting at a computer all day!
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you to the people who emailed me offering to test cut the Lady Liberty File. I have sent it to a couple and am looking forward to receiving feedback.
Keeping with the same theme, I thought I would create a file (available free for a limited time) to depict one of the most visible attractions so many people visit in our Nation's Capital. It is the Washington Monument which was built to honor, who else, but George washington who really led this country to independence as well as being our first president.
For those who have visited, this will look great as an accent on one of your pages. For those who still haven't had a chance, make sure you add it to your list of places to see!
Sorry, the free file is no longer available, but you can find it at my Paperthreads Store!
OR: The place where I can share a little bit of my life along with my "obsession" with my Klic-N-Kut and Everything else that involves Blingy Sparkly Rhinestones Garments and Misc!

So when you work 50 hours in one week...
It really doesn't leave much time to be able to play with my KNK!
Of course, 50 hours was not planned, but that is life! I was going to be off on Friday this week, but one of my co-workers had a family emergency and after speaking with my boss, I agreed to work the extra day.
In exchange, I will be able to take next Thursday (thus giving me a longer 4th of July weekend) to relax and enjoy. What are all of you planning for the 4th? We haven't made up our minds completely, but our town does a big bash every year at the local park and has bands, chili cookoffs, games for kids, etc. If the weather holds out that may be the way for us to go. Of course, we have to keep our puppy in mind, so we will have to think what we really want to see and do.
I was trying to figure out what I would make when I thought why not something fun for the 4th! With that in mind, I designed a couple of projects. One that I am will be sharing here tomorrow with all of you and another that I will be adding to my gallery at Cutters Market.
Now, for the one I am going to be loading to my gallery, I need someone to please help me out and test cut the .GSD version. If you have a machine and are willing to help me out and give me a little feedback, please send an email to: accentsbyeddita@gmail.com
I will send you the file and ask that you let me know if you had any problems. It is a little intricate, but I think it is really spectacular. Here is what it looks like:
Well, I guess that's all for now.

Welcome to Saturday and a Quick KNK Video tutorial
Hi everyone,
There have been some questions recently on my fav board about journaling using your KNK. After reading tips, I tried it and it worked great! As I am a visual person, I thought...maybe I can do a quick video tutorial for people who haven't yet tried it and would like to see how it works.
For the demonstration, I am using the Sakura Quickie Glue Pen, but the same instructions would apply using their Gel Pens.
Since the video may not show it clearly, here is a pic of the finished product. With the glue pen, I added glitter so it would stand out. I'm not sure if you would be able to use embossing powder but it might be worth a shot.
So, without any further fanfare, here is my little short. I'm not sure how the volume is so you may have to turn it up a bit.
Be aware I had to compress the file since it was TOOO big to upload here. Hopefully you will be able to get the gist of it. I thought it came out well. Let me know what you think!
Enjoy your day!

The Bucket List
OK, so the day before Father's Day, our mailman delivers the movie, The Bucket List, which stars Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. The only thing I knew about the movie was that it was about 2 friends who had limited time and created a list of things they wanted to do before they died. I remember the ads looking funny which is why I put it on the Netflix list.
Now let me preface this by saying, I didn't know dying from what, etc, just that it would happen and that they were going to go out in style.
Well....
Ok, so my Dad passed away on 12 December 1992 from lung cancer that had matastasized to his leg and then to his brain. It is still very difficult for me to talk about because I really miss him....
So, the movie starts out with Morgan Freeman getting the "call" and ending up in the hospital where he meets Jack Nicholson, who before then was a stranger to him, and also ends up in the hospital and becomes his roommate. So what do both have??? you got it...cancer.
OK, so I didn't know how I was going to do with the movie, but in the end, it was sad but at the same time a well put together tale which actually leaves you on a happy note as odd as it may seem.
The hospital scenes weren't so bad, and watching them on their journey gave me a lot to think about. The worst part for me however, was when a funeral occurs (not going to say who, what, when just so that those of you out there who haven't seen the movie will not have story plots ruined for them). Anyway, there is a moment when the camera turns from the person giving the eulogy to show all of the people in attendance.
This was the part of the movie that really hit home for me and I almost lost it.
When my Dad passed away, I did a reading. Up until that moment, I was only sitting in the front row along with my Mom, brother and sister. Not once did I turn around. When I got up and stood behind the podium, after putting my finger on the reading to try to get the letters to stop jumping around, I looked up. It was in that moment that I realized how loved my Dad had been. The church was full.
It was full of friends and strangers, people I had never met in my life. My father had retired from the fire department after 20 some years of service. He also drove a taxicab after retirement to help supplement income and because he never could "not" work. When I looked up, I could see rows and rows of men in suits as well as men in full uniform. His firefighter and taxi brothers all came out. What a sight to behold! As I write this I cannot help but cry.
I wonder if my Dad ever knew how many lives he touched and how people really cared? He was a good man.
In honor of my Dad and Father's Day, I created a FREE file which I have uploaded into Cutters Market. I won't even make you hunt for it! Just go to my gallery and you will find it under the Occupations tab.
Happy Father's Day Dad!
Happy Father's Day to everyone's Dads...those still here to share a fun day with everyone and those who are on the other side waiting patiently for us.
Big Hugs,
Eddita
PS: In case you are wondering, I would recommend the movie. I did enjoy it and only after the credits started rolling did I see that Rob Reiner directed it...I have never seen a movie of his I didn't enjoy!

Gift Bags and do you know anyone interested in purchasing an Element?
As I have been playing more and more with the KNK I am constantly amazed at all of the really cool beans things I can create.
The latest is gift bags! You don't know how many times I have a little gift to give someone and nothing to put it in. I finally sat down with a gift bag to figure out how they are put together and created a nifty little file to solve my problems.
Depending on the maximum cutting size on your machine, (the largest for me being 12x12 inches) I was able to make a bag 3.75 x 5.75 x 1.75. In addition to the paper, the only extras you need are tape or glue, ribbon or yarn, and embellishments. Of course you can use any type of thinner paper (bazzill is a little too much) to make the bag appropriate to the occasion.
I just listed it recently. If interested, here is the link for the gift bag pattern.
Also, I was asked if I would be kind enough to mention that Kylee is currently selling her Klic-N-Cut Element. She is asking $ 500 and will ship anywhere in the USA for free. She was also able to speak with Michelle, the fabulous proprietress of Paperthreads Forum who agreed to provide up to 1 hour set up help.
This is a really good price! If anyone is interested, please contact Kylee directly.
Well, that's about all. I'm off to watch the cyclones...ok so that is what I call them but in fact they are the cylons who are in the midst of a war against the last of the human race as they try to find earth....ok...for those sci-fi chickadees and roosterroos out there you know I am talking about Battlestar Gallactica...ok...the truth is out now....I'm a sci-fi lover...I guess another one of my addictions! LOL but that is best left for another day!
Have a great night!

Ready for a Party??
I am playing a bingo game on at one of my favorite forums and this month the theme is "outside of the scrapbook". The idea is to find unique ways to use our cutter other than for scrapbooking layouts (and cards).
Every day or so, the wonderful Jan will call a word and the first person to post a picture of an example of the word wins a neat prize. The other day she called T-Shirt Transfers and I was the first to post a picture of a really neat shirt I made using brown flock and a nifty little bird flourish I had designed. Woo Hoo!
Today's word was Party Decorations and it reminded me that I had made a really nice little file that would be perfect! 3-Dimensional Party streamers!
A lot of times I think inside the box, but every so often I like to think outside and this is a good example. Depending on how large you pull on the corner to resize before you cut out, the streamer will be very long, or very short.
I have hung them from the ceilings as well as in the doorways. When finished, if you like to be green, you can very easily store them away until next time. All it takes is a piece of lightweight scrapbooking paper and a thumbtack or piece of tape to hold one end in place.
Here is the link if you are interested in the file! Let me know what you think!
Enjoy!

Finally a new free .KNK and .GSD File
So I have been steadily working at getting all of my settings saved again and had a couple of minutes to create a new file. It was inspired by my nemisis...the one thing I cannot resist....Chocolate Milkshakes!!!
Since I do not have the ice cream right now, I'm just going to have to live with the thought...but maybe this weekend.... LOL!
In any case, the links to the files are below. No time constraint so you can download at your leisure. Title is included (of course!)
Hope all is well with all of you!

After no Internet for 2 days....
I'm back up and running! Woo Hoo....now drumroll please....here she is, the Mama Bear...the 13" KNK and BOY IS SHE LARGE!!
My Element had room to spare side to side and I was able to use both the front and back flatbeds, but this machine is A LOT larger and I can only fit the front flatbed. That's ok though since it really is the only one that need.
I had to uninstall the old program and then reinstall the new one. Took a little time, but everything I learned about installing the first time (and all of the little problems) were easily bypassed this time around.
I of course couldn't wait to start working on projects and I will be sharing them with you this week. I didn't forget the freebie either which I hope to have uploaded for you in the next couple of days.
Our strawberry bed has been going like gangbusters and I have a bunch that I am going to use to make Strawberry Ice Cream. Of course since my Internet has been down, I have been unable to go to my fav site (food network) and get a good recipe. Tonight however will be the night! LOL
Hope everyone is doing well!

Wednesday...a bit sad and the wait begins!
Well I did it...I sold my Element. I look at my little table next to my computer where my "baby" sat and I am very sad. What a great machine! The time we spent together just flew by...then came the packing...as we don't throw away original boxes (just break them down) I had everything I needed to pack it up. The worst part was disconnecting the dongle from my computer...so final (pardon me but I couldn't type for the tears...)
Ok, SO, before I sound too maudlin, the ONLY reason I sold it is because I have been saving my pennies to upgrade to a new machine and ended up choosing....drumroll please....the 13" KNK.
Crowds cheering...band playing...cutters zipping...
DH loved the idea when I first came to him to tell him I was thinking about selling it...as he has pretty rued the day he gave it to me for Christmas. He said he never thought I would get into "it" as much as I have. He says I'm addicted and will have to go to KNK rehab and I say NO!
I just LOVE playing with it and designing and cutting files...I have even done a number of scrapbook pages which is pretty amazing as I had tried years ago but never really gotten into it...now I'm taking pictures, cutting accents and putting them in a book...who'ld a thought?!
Also, for those who don't know, in addition to my own projects which you see at Cutters Market, I am also on 2 design teams. One for Shirley (my partner in sourdough bread) and another for Jenette (check my favorite links for their blogs). They are both wonderful and talented ladies!
Anyway, before I packed up my "baby" I was able to cut 2 last files for a layout I am working on....I'm worried I will start to have withdrawl symptoms before too long LOL! On the bright side, I have a tracking number with FedEx and the website, which I check pretty much ALL the time, says it should arrive on Friday...I can't wait...the clock is ticking....
DH is threatening not to be home to sign for it....but then that would be very silly of him (HMPHH!)
Eddita
PS: Free file will be posted most likely on Sunday...I am rethinking free file Fridays to Super Spontaneous Saturdays...in any case, I will get something up :)

Lazy Sunday
So we really had a nice time yesterday. The rain left and the sun came out in time to dry everything up. A few friends were not able to make it and they were missed, but there is always a next time!
This morning we were out back tidying things up a bit and had to drain the big cooler. Our puppy Daisy was enjoying it. She stuck her head under and started to drink it right up...she didn't mind that her head was being covered in ice cold water LOL! I took a quick movie that I thought I would share with you:
Since we cleaned up the house in preperation yesterday, the only things left are to fill the dishwasher with what I didn't do last night and finish putting away the coolers....not much at all....I guess I will have time to work on some files (Woo Hoo!)
I hope everyone is enjoying their day!
